From April to May, the university successively held the Faculty Track and Field Sports Meeting and the Faculty Fun Sports Day. The delegation from the School of Information and Control Engineering demonstrated a unique spirit of educators through passionate competition and joyful collaboration, showcasing the School’s strong sense of unity and drive for excellence.
Track and Field: The Spirit of Struggle Energizes the Campus
From April 18 to 19, the 64th Track and Field Sports Meeting of China University of Mining and Technology was held at the Nanhu Stadium. Over 90 faculty members from the School participated in the opening ceremony, appearing in uniform with high spirits. In various competitions, our faculty members demonstrated extraordinary determination and delivered impressive performances, ultimately securing first place inthe internal overall rankings of the university’s colleges. Notable results included first place in the men’s 4×100m relay, first place in the men’s Group A long jump, first place in the women’s Group B 60m, first place in the women’s Group C 200m, and first place in the mixed 4×100m relay, vividly displaying the athletic vitality of the School.
Fun Games: Collaborative Strength Celebrates the University’s Spirit
On May 14, the university held the Faculty Fun Sports Day in Area A of the Nanhu Gymnasium. This event featured innovative formats and rich content, comprising ten activities including “Paddleball Duel,” “Stars Supporting the Moon,” and “Relay of Love.” Faculty members from our School participated with great enthusiasm, deepening communication, strengthening collaboration, releasing energy, and fostering well-being through these games. They achieved outstanding results, including second place in “Shuttlecock Kick Duel,” third place in both “Rolling Wheels” and “Precision Archery,” and fourth place in “United March” and “Relay of Love.”
The School placed great emphasis on this sports event. School leadership actively participated and led by example, the faculty union meticulously planned and organized the activities, and volunteers carried out their duties with care and responsibility. These combined efforts ensured the smooth execution of the event and contributed to the excellent results achieved. All faculty members of the School will continue to carry forward the team spirit, cooperative mindset, and striving attitude demonstrated on the sports field, and channel this energy into discipline development, teaching and research, talent cultivation, and administrative services—making greater contributions to the School’s high-quality development.
